If she chose not to practice Scientology, that is her decision, but to try to attack Scientology and thus attack every Scientology parishioner is inexcusable. A&E is now an accessory to this transgression.

Dear Mr. Buccieri,
I feel A&E has made a big mistake airing this Leah Remini series, taking the word of a known religious defector as sooth. Didn’t A&E check out her story before airing these untruths? Has anyone at A&E read any books written by L. Ron Hubbard? He is responsible for many, many people leading happy, ethical, successful lives.
I have been a Scientology parishioner since 1977 and I am proud and pleased to have achieved a life that many people I have met over the years find admirable. I do not create situations in life to harm anyone or to take advantage, monetarily or otherwise, of anyone. My attitude toward helping others, making people feel better about themselves and enriching the life of others, comes from the writings of L. Ron Hubbard. I have achieved a high level of understanding of life in order to make my life and the lives of others better.
The philosophy of L. Ron Hubbard gives one the tools to handle life. It is not something one is forced to do, it is something one sees as a truth. I have never been forced to do anything I did not want to do in all the years since I first became a Scientology parishioner almost 40 years ago. Anyone who chooses to utilize the tools of Scientology does so in order to improve their lives and the lives of others. Some people do not apply the technology and as a result do not achieve the results that can be had.
An analogy of this would be an individual who wants to drive a car but does not want to learn how to drive a car or does not apply the data they learned about driving a car—that individual will end up with unfavorable results. But the key point here is, the individual is responsible for the unfavorable results, not someone else.
Leah Remini is such an individual. I feel sorry for her, because she not only did not learn what was made available to her, but she corrupted it, somehow, to make it seem like the whole of Scientology is “bad.” If she chose not to practice Scientology, that is her decision, but to try to attack Scientology and thus attack every Scientology parishioner is inexcusable. A&E is now an accessory to this transgression.
As a part of her attack on Scientology and the parishioners of Scientology, she has made accusations concerning Mr. David Miscavige. I have personally met Mr. Miscavige many times and found him a warm, friendly, funny, intelligent and caring person. Every encounter I have had with Mr. Miscavige was a delightful experience and I am proud to know him.
An attack on Scientology or any religion is a spiritual attack against what is making many lives better. Any attempt to undermine what people believe is an assault on their spiritual well-being.
Sincerely,
Laura Case
