What I find even more difficult to understand is how this discrimination can be sanctioned to whatever degree by Disney. For all of my life Disney has always been a beacon for tolerance and acceptance. It has always stood up for the underdog and given a home to those who were different.

Dear Mr. Sherwood,
My name is Dominick Joseph and I am writing you today in an attempt to focus your attention on the negative effects that are being created in my life and the lives of people I know as a result of a show being produced by one of your channels, A&E, called “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.”
I know many Scientologists and I have had nothing but positive uplifting interactions with each of them.
A few years ago I was having a difficult time solving some problems in my life that I had tried every way possible to resolve. I decided to try Scientology for myself and I was amazed by the results. What was most astonishing to me was the help and support that I freely received that has continued to help my life grow in a positive way.
I let my mother and my sister know that I had done Scientology and the difference they noticed in my life was something that made them very happy.
This past fall, both my mother and sister watched this show. As a result they both dismissed the reality of what they had seen happen in my life. They were convinced that the lies communicated by the people on this show were true. This has created a huge problem in my relationship with both my mother and my sister.
I am constantly having to answer questions and concerns my mother has as a result of this show. My sister won’t talk to me and continues to try and persuade my mother that there is something wrong with me if I am doing Scientology even though all of the facts prove otherwise. What is most astonishing to me about all of this is that it’s 2017. History has already proven many times over that there is no room for bigotry, discrimination, or intolerance in our society.
If we look to social pressure to be accepting of LGBTQ rights, Muslim rights and human rights in general I find it hard to believe that Scientology is being excluded from this list. What I find even more difficult to understand is how this discrimination can be sanctioned to whatever degree by Disney. For all of my life Disney has always been a beacon for tolerance and acceptance. It has always stood up for the underdog and given a home to those who were different.
Unfortunately the problem my family is having as a result of this show is just one of many. I hope that you take it upon yourself as a representative of the Disney legacy to remove this show from the lineup at A&E.
Thank you for your time,
Dominick Joseph
