It’s especially shocking that you want to present her Critics’ Choice award for the season of her television show that inspired a real-life murder. I guess that is an “impact,” but is it really deserving of an award?

Dear Mr. McCarthy,
I recently found out that your network is going to cover The Leah Remini Circus and her minions for an award that she did not deserve.
She engenders hatred toward religion, inspires murder and hate crimes, and is a backward step in the #MeToo movement.
It’s especially shocking that you want to present her Critics’ Choice award for the season of her television show that inspired a real-life murder. I guess that is an “impact,” but is it really deserving of an award?
Plus, let’s just discuss the hilariously ironic fact that the guy on the committee is her Exec Producer. So, it’s not like she really won it because the show is any good, right? She wins by default, much like the participation trophy my son got at soccer for sitting out all the games.
Remini creates a world where hate crimes against a church are acceptable.
She tears down religious institutions not just Scientology, but Islam and also Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She supports a man accused of raping two women and sexually assaulting two others.
Is Leah Remini someone you really want to celebrate and broadcast?
If that’s true, you have strayed too far from the VH1 roots, and that is a sad day.
Sincerely,
Jenny Good Widmaier
