COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
People so often show their true colors during challenging times and, for most people, that means finding ways to succeed in spite of any and all barriers. There are countless examples of selfless acts around the world over the course of this challenging, unforgettable year. Thankfully only a small minority of people actually wish ill on others. They can be difficult to spot because they can come in any “form”—attractive or homely, prosperous or destitute, charming or rude—but you will know them by their actions.
COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
Like the anti-Semitic ‘blood libel,’ Tony Ortega peddles anti-Scientology tropes fabricated to generate hate against members of a minority religion,” said National STAND Director Bari Berger. “To understand the true motivations Ortega attempts to conceal, one need only study any white supremacist manifesto. Ortega feels that those different from him, and those who subscribe to a set of beliefs not his own, do not deserve rights and freedoms. TOLERANCE

MEDIA & ETHICS
“It is unacceptable that Tamron Hall would promote a hate campaigner against any religion—anti-Scientology is anti-Scientology, anti-Semitism is anti-Semitism, Islamophobia is Islamophobia and discrimination is discrimination. Enough is enough,” said STAND National Director Bari Berger. “Hall is apparently one of the few public figures left who believes there is a place for blatant bigotry in mainstream media today.”
COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
I’m done allowing my church—my friends, my family, my community—to be the punch line, or the recipient of hate speech disguised and tossed off as “wit.”
MEDIA & ETHICS
It never ceases to amaze me that stupidity and arrogance so often go hand in hand, or in Pensacola News Journal columnist and cartoonist Andy Marlette’s case, pen in hand.
TOLERANCE
Interestingly, the two “discriminations”—racial and religious—have historical intersections in this land of the free. They stem from the same root, after all, the root called bigotry.
