COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
Then there have been a slew of high-profile tragedies including the New Zealand mosque attacks, the Easter Sunday bombing of Christian churches in Sri Lanka and several synagogue shootings in the United States and Europe. We seem to be living in a time of increased bigotry and even violence against people who are “different” whether of the “wrong” religion, skin color, gender or whatever.
COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
On August 3, 2013, Kayla Mueller was kidnapped by ISIS fighters outside of a hospital in Northern Syria. She had traveled from her home in Prescott, Arizona to help Syrians displaced by that country’s civil war.
COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
Nearly a thousand years ago a great army besieged a castle. Day after day, the army bombarded it with great boulders and flaming arrows. All roads and footpaths into and out from the castle were cut off, and the hidden underground tunnel had been found and filled with mortar and tar.
TOLERANCE
I was raised mildly Jewish. I wasn’t ever bat mitzvahed and, by the time I was 18, I’d actually never been to a synagogue in my life outside of attending a funeral. But we didn’t celebrate Christmas, I can tell you that much. Never had a tree, a bush, a twig, nothing. No Christmas lights.
TOLERANCE
“WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!” The question was bellowed at me in condemnation of my failure to swerve my motion-challenged shopping cart out of the way fast enough to allow passage for the strident, trim, one-third-my-age Whole Foods shopper intent on beating all competition to the Christmas Brewers...

TOLERANCE

Did we our destinies fulfill or were we simply standing still? Perusing all that we’ve been through...
TOLERANCE
I posted this photo on my photography blog. I didn’t think it would be very controversial. Boy, was I wrong.
SCIENTOLOGY RELIGION
When I started hearing about the “OT levels” I was curious as to why much of it was kept confidential. Over time, I answered my own question. And here it is.
RELIGIOUS LITERACY
I’ll admit it, I’m kind of a sucker for those singing competition shows. Please understand, I’m not a singer, and I’ve never had any aspirations of singing into a microphone or in front of a crowd. But listening to people who can do it, and do it well, can really make my day.
