20/20’s disparagement is unwarranted and unwelcome. What the show is attempting to do is to defame the best and the brightest and create fake news—completely opposite of the truth.

Dear Mr. Harris,
I hear that 20/20 will be airing a slanderous news report implying that Scientology children are being exposed to sexual predation on Scientology courses.
If you really are reporting like this it is contemptible and reminiscent of what my mother had to go through during WW II when she was in a forced labor camp in Czechoslovakia. Her best friend was the only member of her family to survive Bergen-Belsen. Just as the Jews were excoriated by the news of the day, so your program would attempt to do the same to Scientologists. Is there a difference? No, not one iota.
The Scientology children that I know, including my son, are raised to have an ethical presence and to not be bullied. They are some of the most intelligent and forthright individuals you can find, dedicated to helping their fellow Man and to flourishing and prospering in this age of decadence and immorality promulgated by the media. My son has helped in many good causes, including Habitat for Humanity. He has helped on Indian reservations, was commended by the Colombia National Police for helping in their The Way to Happiness campaign, and he went to Dominica as a volunteer to help dig homes out of the mud slides caused by a recent Hurricane.
20/20’s disparagement is unwarranted and unwelcome. What the show is attempting to do is to defame the best and the brightest and create fake news—completely opposite of the truth.
Sincerely,
Mark Carberry
