Dear Ms. Clay:
Skechers is promoting religious hate through your advertising support of the Leah Remini series about Scientology on A&E. Support of this show is equivalent to supporting the Ku Klux Klan’s views against non-whites and Catholics or supporting Nazi views against Jews.
I have actively studied and practiced Scientology for over 30 years. There is no more ethical and responsible organization on Earth than the Church of Scientology. It is unfortunate that some individuals who, after repeated opportunities to help them, are unable to reform and restrain their immoral and unethical behavior and are no longer accepted for services in Scientology. Leah Remini and Mike Render are two such individuals.
Their show’s basic premise is a lie. It has resulted in hundreds of threats and bigoted actions against Scientologists and our churches. It has resulted in alienating my own family from me.
With the support of your advertising dollars, you are allowing and promoting religious bigots to profit in the millions of dollars by forwarding lies and religious hate. With the recent actions by white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the national and international condemnation of such actions, it is outrageous and unthinkable that your company would align itself with such activities and seek to profit from them.
Should you proceed to support the Leah Remini/hate series on A&E, I will use all efforts available to promote to the world to boycott your business.
Respectfully,
Karl Miller
