This egregious and false “documentary” not only fans the flames of religious discrimination, but has inspired actual acts of violence against parishioners. This is clearly not at all in alignment with the spirit of the Disney organization.

Mr. Ben Sherwood
President Disney-ABC Television Group
Dear Mr. Sherwood,
As a part of the Disney “family” (as an actor, I do many voices for Disney projects, including the Robin Williams “Blue Genie” from Aladdin) I am proud of the upstanding and responsible way the Disney high standard of quality reaches across all areas in the company and its associated channels.
For that reason, I’m sure that Disney would be anxious to distance themselves from a disreputable series on its affiliate, A&E, that is disparaging to the religious beliefs of millions of viewers and also dangerous to their well-being.
The show I’m talking about is, of course, Leah Remini’s anti-religious, offensive “Aftermath” program.
These days, I’m sure you will agree, tensions between Americans need to be relaxed, not exacerbated. This egregious and false “documentary” not only fans the flames of religious discrimination, but has inspired actual acts of violence against parishioners. This is clearly not at all in alignment with the spirit of the Disney organization.
Please do what you can to discourage or put an end to any programming in the coming year that could incite more disharmony and violence against any religious groups, especially on A&E, which should be a safe haven for artists and creative people, not for the intolerant rants of religious bigots.
I thank you in advance and thank you for all you do to make the world a safer, kinder place.
Sincerely,
Jim Meskimen
