Dear Mr. Shapiro,
With respect, I recommend that you stick with politics when you write. Inserting your 2-cent depreciation of the Scientology religion in today’s sacbee.com article is unwanted and unwelcome.
You may not know this, but the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom found Scientology to be a religion, as did the Australian High Court, as did a recent trial court in Belgium, as did the European Court of Human Rights (twice), and the National Court of Spain, the Italian Supreme Court, the Internal Revenue Service, courts in Germany and governments of many other countries. These are courts and governments appointed to view all pertinent information and having done so each returned with unequivocal findings.
Repeating unfounded allegations concerning the Church of Scientology forwards the bigoted agenda of others. Scientology is entitled to respect just as are other recognized religions.
I request that you act more responsibly when mentioning Scientology, realizing that bona fide authorities have determined that Scientology is a religion.
