Her show has inspired desecration of our facilities, numerous threats of physical violence, and yes, harassment of our children in public schools. Of course it won’t be you who is bloodied if any of these threats come to fruition. It will be me, or my friends, or my fellows or, God help us, our children.

Dear Mr. Brito,
I understand you intend to give money to Leah Remini to enable one last fling of her anti-religious show.
I guess it’s no worry to you. Your children aren’t Scientologists.
Well, mine are.
Her show inspired one watcher to drive her car into our Austin church, stopping just short of the nursery. Of course your kids weren’t there.
Her show has inspired desecration of our facilities, numerous threats of physical violence, and yes, harassment of our children in public schools. Of course it won’t be you who is bloodied if any of these threats come to fruition. It will be me, or my friends, or my fellows or, God help us, our children.
While most of mankind marches forward, Leah Remini is taking a step back.
I’ve been a Scientologist for 46 years. I have never seen a mass-market media portrayal of our religion that even comes close to the truth of who we are and what we believe in. Not even remotely close. Leah Remini is no exception. We are good people, and we do not deserve to be mocked, threatened, or injured just because Leah Remini wants to make money.
If you don’t believe any of the statements I make in this letter, write me back. I’ll send you the documentation.
We are living in an age of increased humanity, of increased recognition of people’s rights, and of an increased respect for the truth. While most of mankind marches forward, Leah Remini is taking a step back.
Don’t pay her to take that step.
Sincerely,
Leland Thoburn
