Dear Sir,
Once again, I’m writing to express my upset, outrage and utter disgust at your renewal of the direct attack on my religion through Leah Remini’s self-promotional fiction.
Perhaps you did not know that since the airing of the first episode of her show, the Church of Scientology has been the recipient of over 500 death threats—not casual calls to comment on how awful Scientology is, not brief hateful monologues. No, 500 threats of death, bombs and violence to our staff and public. As an example of Remini fallout, a woman drove her car into the Austin Texas Church landing only a few feet from the child daycare center. By her own words, she had never been to a Scientology organization, never read a book and did not even know any Scientologists. She was “getting back at us” because of what Leah Remini had said.
OMG! Don’t you see the parallel between hate speech and violence? How can you be a part of that? Never mind that the program is full of lies, half-truths and innuendo. Never mind that there are millions of Scientologists and non-Scientologists who witness that Scientology has saved their lives. The violence her show creates should be enough cause to drop it from programming.
Disney is best known and loved for its family fare, and rightfully so. Why, then, would you continue to allow such ugliness to continue in the face of truth? Leah Remini is a hateful, anti-religious malcontent. My hope is that you will resist the lure of blood money and do the right thing. Cancel Leah Remini’s show and return Disney to its rightful position as a corporation that Walt would be proud of.
Respectfully,
Joel Phillips
