Adhering to your formula, one could describe a Christian group as “pagan-like” or a political organization as “cannibal-like” or, better yet, a media outlet as “criminal-like.” Those groups would certainly, and rightly, object strenuously to such analogies, as I do about your crack about Scientology.

Dear Mr. Cross,
I read with interest your article on Ohio’s historic Serpent Mound and damage made to it several years ago, but was surprised to find your unwarranted slight against my religion, by describing an offending group as “Scientology-like.”
The “Unite the Collective” that apparently damaged this historic site is not in any way connected or even remotely similar to the Church of Scientology. I guess you used the word Scientology in an effort to disparage its millions of members for clickbait or some other nefarious purpose.
Adhering to your formula, one could describe a Christian group as “pagan-like” or a political organization as “cannibal-like” or, better yet, a media outlet as “criminal-like.” Those groups would certainly, and rightly, object strenuously to such analogies, as I do concerning your crack about Scientology.
Please, in the future, refrain from such careless and ignorant remarks. Scientologists devote an enormous amount of time, energy and money to helping those less fortunate and doing whatever they can to uplift society in general. Articles like yours don’t contribute anything beneficial, they only hinder.
Find out what we do at www.scientology.org and www.scientologyreligion.org and report about us accurately.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Blair
