Dear Sir,
While it is clear that you just loooove Leah Remini, I’ll share a little tidbit with you as I’ve spoken with dozens of people who knew her when she was a member of the Church of Scientology. One for one, they loathed her. They said that they found her crass, self-centered, diminutive of others and in her own world, the only one who mattered. They were not sorry to see her gone. To the contrary, they, again one-for-one, were happy she was gone. If Scientology was not for her, then fine, she should go her own way. But don’t harass the rest of us.
It is clear that you consider it a high level of culture to pour scorn on people of religion, but may I remind you that it is those of faith who help more people per unit of time than anyone else. And when I say help, I mean actual, real, bona fide help—like feeding people, clothing them, giving them shelter, providing spiritual counseling over lost property, family or friends, cleaning up after a hurricane or flood—you know, things that really mean something.
I felt that you should have this information to balance the bigotry with which you attacked me, my friends and others of my religion—Scientologists.
How would you feel if someone were to stand up and trash everything you consider valuable and worth cherishing?
Our world has enough hatred and venom. You don’t need to add to it. Why not share some love, some respect, some care for others? We all live on the same planet.
Sincerely,
Alicia Selverson
