Your “journalism” which traffics in fear and lies is helping no one make it through this pandemic. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is spreading hate at a time when it has never been clearer that we are all in this together.

Director of Digital News
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Dear Mr. Champoux,
Twisting an act of kindness and goodwill, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is obviously only interested in seeking to manufacture nonexistent controversy. Carl Marchand’s article of June 3 makes claims that Canadian Scientology Volunteer Ministers, donating their time to help their neighbors and provide free prevention materials to their community, pretended to be government employees. You do not even attempt to provide evidence of this blatantly false assertion.
Our volunteers are dressed from head-to-toe in gear which proudly indicates they are Scientology Volunteer Ministers. Their hats, jackets and jumpsuits all state as much. You even include photos in your article of this attire. This makes it abundantly clear your only purpose is to stir up antireligious hate.
Marchand’s article promotes that religions engage in “strategies” to “lead them to be socially recognized” and that these often fail. He apparently cannot fathom that religions across the globe seek to uplift individuals and communities, and that they are among the largest forces for good in the world.
Your “journalism” which traffics in fear and lies is helping no one make it through this pandemic. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is spreading hate at a time when it has never been clearer that we are all in this together.
On behalf of Scientologists, members of the international religious community, and all those around the world taking a stand against injustice, hate and discrimination as I write you this letter, I demand the CBC take down this bigoted article and cease its discriminatory coverage of the Scientology religion and all faiths working for a better world.
Sincerely,
Edward Parkin
