MEDIA & ETHICS
To say there’s been significant recent debate about the media, its role and its reliability is probably an understatement. Fear not, though, I won’t wade into the highly publicized never-ending battle between politicians and mainstream media—that’s getting more than enough coverage on its own.
TOLERANCE
For me, this is the spirit of Christmas. It was how I was raised. Giving help to those less fortunate. Brightening the days of those around me. Lifting the spirits of those not doing as well as they’d like to because of whatever challenges they face.
TOLERANCE
The Winter Solstice itself is something that nearly all humanity and all life on this planet has in common. The point of renewal. The end of one climate cycle and the beginning of another, which humans experience with all other living creatures. The common experience goes back millions of years. It’s something that’s in us all and it runs deep.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
These “Bloggers of the Round Table” are an eclectic bunch: musicians, writers, lawyers, pilots, business owners, clergy… you name it, and despite the seriousness of their mission, they’re an insouciant lot and great company.
TOLERANCE
Enough people got so tired of living in a country that treated them like prisoners, and the system became so unworkable, that they began to protest.
RELIGIOUS LITERACY
I grew up in the south, where hair is big and religion is bigger: mega-church big. Mormons were different. Not the wearing-black-and-avoiding-ornament humility of the Mennonite faith, but quiet in their own way: no swearing, no drinking, and church boundaries divided by geographic location, not by the popularity of a specific preacher (they have a lay ministry anyway).
COMBATING BIGOTRY & HATE
Why else would someone go so far down the road of attacking groups that have clearly demonstrated over and over again that they intend to and do improve the quality of people’s lives in profound ways?
